I hope I have this post in the right place ? I have just bought a new Aluminium Frying pan and I know I should season it first but the big question is how? there seems to be so many ideas on the net but I was wondering if anyone on here has done this before and what the results were with the way they did it?

Hi sallyann

This is how I did my aluminium pans:

Wash with hot soapy water.

Dry it and then coat it with vegetable oil (pour the oil onto a paper towel and work it well into all the surfaces).

Put it into a preheated oven (250 degrees) for two hours.

Never use scouring pads or detergent as it will take off the seasoning (just wipe out with a cloth).

If food ever starts to stick to the pan, just season it again.

(avoid putting it through a dishwasher at all costs!)

Another way I was told is to cook salt in it dry, but I don't know if it works?
