| Sallyann That is much cheaper than we live on here in Turkey. Dog dried food is very expensive as well as meat. We try to shop around to see if certain stores have offers ie meat. Do you also run a car on your total outgoings ? |

| You can live in BG on small money but it all depends on your life style. The normal rate of earnings for a man who is say a skilled person e.g. Mechanic in a main dealer is about 800 - 900 leva per month. A woman say working in an office or supermarket would earn between 300 - 400 leva per month.
The highest bill that we have to pay is the cost of winter fuel followed by the cost of Electric, then the cost of driving.
Dinning out is cheap you can enjoy a meal for 2 including booze for between 15 and 20 quid. Depending on type of food place you go to. There are no such things as a take away except for the odd Pizza place.
Parking the car is free and when you do have to pay it is cheap but the Police are always lurking so fines for minor driving offences can mount up if you are caught.
Hope this helps.
Tony |

| The cost of living in Bulgaria can differ according to your own standard of living and also where you choose to live just as in the uk its more expensive to live in London than it is in Liverpool so there is a lot to consider you will get very different views on this subject and we all will give you a completely different idea of the cost of living but you will really need to know where your going to live and what sort of life your looking to enjoy. |

| Good luck to both of you but do really think about how you will finance the rest of your life because in Bulgaria this is one of the things that is very difficult for most and its the main reason a lot of people do return to the uk. |

This,is sound advice, please think very carefully about how you will have an income.Work is scarce and unless you are fluent in Bulgarian it is harder. Many people try to live off savings, sale of UK house etc,but the money wont last for ever and many have returned to UK broke.I wish you all the luck in the world. |

Good advice sallyann the same applies over here in Turkey, they have a work permit system, but effectively they are rarely given and Brits in reality have no way of working over here legally. A lot have gave gone back to the UK and many have opted to move to BG in the hope that it is cheaper and their money will see them through. |
