100 million leva are buried somewhere in the sands of Sunny Beach. The alarming news leaked from the Ministry of Economy and quickly entered the public domain.
These "
facts"
, however, are not only unconvincing but also absolutely false. The way they are presenting it is outrageous because nobody is that stupid so as not to put two and two together.
The amount is huge and suggests highway robbery. But this is pure propaganda and has nothing to do with reality. It was reported by deputy economy minister Ivo Marinov, who knows that in the past 10-12 years the revenues at the resort are estimated at around 130-140 million. So someone is misled. Only direct investments in the resort total 93 million. For the payment of dividends, spin-offs, fees, etc. are given additional resources, for which, of course, there are relevant documents. So if Ivo Marinov and minister Traicho Traikov continue to insist on 100 million they will have to return to the previous bosses the difference of 40 million ...
Marinov mentions the sale of electricity distribution network in Sunny Beach of the Austrian company EVN for 47 million as something shrouded in fog. We need to remind him that the Minister Traicho Traikov, before taking office, worked at EVN Bulgaria Heat Supply and EVN Bulgaria Electricity. A curious detail of this is that the then Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Lydia Shuleva insisted the resort be privatized by EVN for only a modest 17 million. Thanks to the hard battle, fought and won by Malina Stratieva, Executive Director of SB Baord of Directors and the members of this board, the price was raised to 47 million. Maybe minister Traikov wants to take revenge for this difference, which in no case has fascinated his Austrian employers. And Prime minister Borisov expressed doubts about some practices of the same company.
