German World War 2 mine found on Bulgarian beach

A German naval mine from World War 2 was found near the beach at the international children camp near Kranevo, Bulgarian media reported on April 13 2011.

The mine was discovered during excavation works, after which the local police force were notified. With the arrival of the police, the entire perimeter around the mine was cordoned off.

A Bulgarian naval unit was called to the scene and a team of marine sappers carried out a controlled detonation.
