Failure Leaves Central Sofia Without Heat Amid Flu Epidemic

A failure in the system has left a major part of the centre of Bulgarian capital Sofia without heating, just as a flu epidemic has been declared in the city.

Toplofikatsiya Sofia, the company that delivers heat to most of Sofia, announced that it had organized a special reaction unit to deal with the crash as soon as possible.

The affected area includes the quarters bordered by Slivnitsa Blvd, Rakovski Str, Ivan Vazov Str, Dyakon Ignatiy Str, Moskovska Str, Ekzarh Yosif Str and Maria Luisa Blvd.

Residences, offices and institutions in most of Sofia are heated using a central heating system.
