Anybody got any recommendations for rock bands in Bulgaria? Looking to try and get to some gigs when I get out there and want to know who to check out.

Also, is this forum just for Bulgarian bands or from any country? Got some recommendations I could give myself.

Do you mean you have joined MINDYA ROCK FEST GROUP on FB? I believe that recently there was a post from the Committee Chairman, Stanimir Gabrovski mentioning the names of the 10 groups playing. It was in Bulgarian but you can press Google Translate for any of the posts or send Evgenii Dainov a message or post asking him as he is in charge of all the music.

For those interested and not on Facebook (I don't blame you!) this year's event is now definitely 2 days - Friday and Saturday August 26th and 27th. Anyone with a Retro car or bike is welcome to contact Stanimir Gabrovski on FB or me on here and I will pass it on. Anyone interested in playing should contact Evgenii Dainov who speaks English and I will also pass this on if you aren't on FB.
There will be room for tents and caravans in the village or down by our river or there is the English campsite in Draghezhevo only 10kms down from Mindya on the main Elena road. There will also be security and police directing parking.
If anyone is interested in having a stall, also please let me know and I will pass it on or else ask on MINDYA ROCK FEST GROUP on FB.
There will be beer tents and food stalls also folk singing and maybe dancing. Its all still work in progress. We nearly have enough sponsorship and have received a large donation from the Mayor of Veliko Turnovo plus he is paying for the police escort for the Retro parade from VT to Mindya. Not sure of the dates for this yet.
Somewhere on the FB Group there is a lovely little video of last year's event showing various clips of people camping and cooling off in the river. Please join the Group in support if you use FB. Also Google search Mindyarocks for music clips of last years event.
I should add that I am really only an Honarary member of the Rockfest Committee as I sponsored the first one. Although I fully support it and help with the publicity for the Brits, I am NOT in charge of anything but will pass on any queries to the relevant people. It is a FREE event for all but naturally it is first and foremost a BULGARIAN affair. I feel I have to mention this in view of the misguided opinion some local Brits have of my involvement! I don't wish any more upsets.
