Bank take over Empty
PostSubject: Bank take over   Bank take over Icon_minitimeFri Feb 04, 2011 11:28 am

i have an account in the uk with the royal bank of scotland, they have informed me that my branch is either closing or being taken over by santander, over 300 branches will be affected. so next year my account will be with santander. no problem really.

i rang the new bank and asked if i was eligible for the £100 which every new customer recieves, they said no, i was not the client, rbs was the client. i said this was rather unfair not having been given any choice in the matter.

he said, if i close my account before the take over and open a new account with them i will get the £100. so thats what im going to do. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I don't bank with Santander, but the only reports I have heard about them are bad.

Regards, George.

Why don't you just go to a real Bank star.

Santander can c**k anything up. A relative of mine continually went in and complained after they could not even get a Standing Order right from one account to another. :Headbang:Needles to say she gave up and went to Barclays, not that they are the bee's knee's. HSBC had problems there but still with them after 40 years.

Too many bits in the small print. Sounds like they will give you the earth when hell freezes over [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
