Bulgaria celebrates its first graduates in the culinary arts
HRC Culinary Academy, located in Dobrich, Bulgaria at International University College, awarded its first degrees to professionals in the field of culinary arts on November 18 2010.
After three years of education and training, combining theory and practice, the HRC Culinary Academy now has its first generation of graduates. The students were all taught in English and all the college's teachers are from abroad.
The first graduates of the HRC Culinary Academy received their diplomas at an official graduation ceremony. Apart from the students and staff of the HRC Culinary Academy, the ceremony was also attended by guests from University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, Nestle Professional and Komeks Ltd. representing Electrolux Professional, and representatives of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association. All the guests celebrated the success of the first graduates with a selection of wines prepared by Bibendum.
The ceremony continued with a cocktail that current students, together with teachers in the HRC Culinary Academy, had prepared for the first class of graduates. A special "
graduates’ cake"
was prepared by chef Inna Badalova and students for the young chefs. Eight chef-caps with the name of each of the graduating students covered the cake, which was enjoyed by all guests.
Most of the graduates are already working in their field in Bulgaria and abroad.
