90% of Bulgarian borders to receive equipment for detecting radioactive substances
90% of Bulgarian borders will receive equipment for detecting radioactive substances, Bulgarian Interior Minister Tzvetan Tzvetanov announced. This will prevent the illegal trafficking of nuclear elements, Mr Tzvetanov said further. The equipment worth some $ 10.5 million has been donated by the US Department of Energy. As far as Bulgaria’s internal order and security are concerned, the American government is a strategic partner, Minister Tzvetanov pointed out. In his words, the donation contributes to EU’s external border security.
