So what are your thoughts on this.

Just sat and listened to Iain Duncan Smith and to be honest I thought that it was a load of waffle

I only hope that this reform ends the bad back brigade

It should also stop the lazy devils saying I cannot go to work as I am better off on the dole ::

It might even stop the import of foreign workers coming to the promised land (land of handouts)

Or is it just a lot of hot air

Dream on Tony it wont stop the spoungers,they have rights the taxpayer will have to pay their rent,poll tax ect,its called these days human rights,too many bloody do gooders out there mate,but if all else fails they can always do to Butlins,( HER MAJESTYS PRISON) where they can get free heating,free food 3 meals a day and free education,human rights bloody laugh init,prison should be bread an water,no heating,and lots and lots of cockroaches,but it will never happen,rant over

You are right of course. But as you say dream on

Human rights are there to protect the victims, which they do.

The problem lies in the fact that looking from the outside, it seems the courts and in particular Brussels, like to look beyond the crime and try to see the cause of the crime, which ends up with the criminal being viewed as a victim of circumstance.

How does that help the real victim.

Anyway back to the original post. The main problem with reform is that to show the masses reform has taken place it is done to excess, meanining the reforms need reforming. So the benefits swing from one side to the other whilst the 'cheats' carry on straight down the middle screwing the system.
I suppose I could have just said it won't change diddley.

This is so wrong!!! IDS and his cronies are living on another planet. A planet where unemployed could all get jobs cos there are so many jobs out there at the end of some fictitious bus route (yellow brick road?). One where the sick are all faking and the mentally ill can be cured with threats to take their money or work in 4 hour a day quiet jobs that frankly, simply don't exist. this is what people will face under this dreadful coalition who continually back away from their principles and promises (especially the deputy PM), a Britain where the poor, sick &
elderly subsidise the rich and where politicians sit in their nice offices imagining that there are jobs out there whilst agreeing policies and spending cuts that will push yet more workers into the dole queue. The future is scary.

All this rubbish that IDS is wittering on about amounts to nothing apart from picking on those that can least defend themselves,If he wants to tackle the problem well immigration is the first port of call , then stop wasting money abroad!! there is an old saying charity begins at home look after the homeland and it's population first when that is all ok and by that I mean no one on the streets no one with no home no one with no gas or electricity then think about other nations.

how true, fix the home problems before lending a hand to others, but, the past governments have allowed a stay at home culture, with pay, so why work. if the government are willing to pay your rent, council tax, ect ect, where is there an incentive to go to work, non really. its so established now, it will be difficult to change the mind set of those who think the world owes them, but there is no incentive to those that do try and work but are not offered any reward in any shape or form. it will be interesting to see what unfolds with the proposed changes of take work or lose benefits. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Is there/ was so there anyone in your Street that never went to work because of a bad back. But could stand straight lift most anything and also boast that they were on benefits? Or never worked a day in their lives and boasted that they were on benefits? Left school went to Uni for a dose then went on benefits? Young girls deliberately getting pregnant to get housing and other benefits?

The immigrants that go to the UK and take, take, take?

Then they are the bu**ers I want caught.

This is something that will be very difficult to change, deserving people may suffer whilst the scroungers are already well versed in scheming and lying there way through interviews, doctors assesments etc.
This may sound drastic but, there is plenty of work in the UK that councils can't afford to do, if they want benefits, give the bu**ers a shovel.

So exactly what jobs are these people supposed to take ?

Five million unemployed. 1.7 million jobs on the register, and another 750,000 civil servant about to join them. Not to mention those that would have gone to university, but have now been priced out of an education.

The Cabinet of Millionaires (inherited not earned) seem to be of the opinion that if you aren't working you're skiving. Do they not have the brains to see that not all the jobs available match the skills available in that area ? and not everyone can just move house as partners may be working locally and the housing market is in the doldrums anyway.

If you're fortunate enough to have a trust fund or rich mummy &
daddy (Cameron, Osbourne, Goldsmith et al) Unemployment benefits are never going to be an issue for you personally.

This Conservative government has NO! idea of how it is affecting real people. those who do have to work for a living.

I was only suggesting there is work to be done in the community in return for receiving benefits. A few hours a week maybe, not some form of state slavery.

There is work and we pay for it in our community charges. If the so called fat cats in local (yes local government) were to take a pay cut. As suggested in Southampton then there would be more money to spread around on jobs. Hence more employment and less people on the dole. I am not having a go at the people that cannot work. Its those that can and won't. I know people in wheelchairs that go to work, blind people etc. They want to and like going. It's the lazy b*****ds, like the neighbour we had that got in his wheelchair but only when there was a visit due from the social.

Sorry but I agree with the Tories 25 percent of the time but 100 percent this time. I am retired and still pay tax and would like to stop feeding these lazy so &
so's. As to the fact that the work might be in different areas, tough. Travel: I had to travel for over 32 years and pay my own fare no handouts for me.
