Authorities are investigating a nightclub in the town of Blagoevgrad, southwest Bulgaria over alleged live sex orgies on stage, Bulgarian National Television (BNT) reported on October 26 2010.

Reportedly, the club, called Harem, had distributed fliers around the town of Blagoevgrad, advertising live sex orgies performed on Fridays, and even promising a 2000 leva prize for people wishing to participate.

The police will investigate the establishment, question its owner and those who have witnessed or participated in the orgies in question, the report said. The nightclub had been operating for months without a permit.

We will investigate the place under article 325 for hooliganism and immoral behaviour;
for systematic use of the premises for perverse and immoral conduct. We will also investigate if there were any cases where minors participated or were forced to participate in the orgies,"
Stanislava Arabadzhieva, regional Blagoevgrad prosecutor was quoted as saying by the private Bulgarian television channel bTV.

Witnesses said that usually the sex orgies begin after 2am on Saturday morning, and be performed on stage in front of spectators.
