Bulgaria Police Bust 73 kg of Heroin Destined for Western Europe[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A rather sizable amount of heroin was captured by Bulgarian police upon the arrest of an organized crime group.
After following the members of a suspected gang for months, the Regional Police Directorate in the city of Stara Zagora and the Unit for Combating Organized Crime GDBOP carried out a special operation overnight.
Near the town of Shipka, they detained a 24-year-old man in whose car they found 117 packets of heroin;
half an hour later they arrested two other men near the town of Gurkovo, aged 45 and 27, with another 29 packets of heroin. All three detainees are natives of the village of Enina.
The total amount of detained drugs is 73 kg, and according to GDBOP it was destined for trafficking to Western Europe. Two more men who are suspected of helping the drug trafficking group have also been arrested.
