Hi all,

Today the weather in Kesarevo is much like UK weather and the temp is around the same as well. It is overcast, the sun is trying to come out, but it is not cold. I can still go out in the garden in my t shirt. The time here is 9.00am

We've had 5 days of on off rain, some of those were heavy rain for most of the day. So the air here is damp, just like the Uk. Arthritis sufferers will feel it here at the moment, as the damp is getting into my bones and my joints are hurting, so just like the Uk in normal weather.

It is not now oppresively hot like it has been, we've had 50C + in the sun in this village. The average this summer has been in the 40'sC to 48 ish most days. Now it is possible to work outside all day.

The last 3 days we've had the air con on, in heating mode, to take the chill off the rooms. But petchkas are not on just yet. The way the weather is going it would seem it is time to get the derva (wood) ready for the fires as I think the fires will be working soon, much earlier than normal here in Kesarevo. In this village it is normally very warm till end of October, but I think not this year. I think the winter this year should not be as bad as last year, we seem to get a bad winter, then a good one, altenating every year.

By the way, just noticed, the site clock is wrong, it is an hour behind Uk time and 3 hours behind BG time and BG time is normally 2 hours ahead of Uk time. time now, here is 9.17 am

Tony have you looked at you preferences and set the timezone there ? just a thought, as you can see from below fo me it was of

The Time here in the uk is 10.42 so that's what should appear when I post although I did want to get it to BG time so still looking at it Very Happy

Ashley, where do I find preferences?? I've looked in my profile and Bulgaria is set as my country. But am lost as to where else to go.

Time is still 3 hours behind Bg time.

Nice and warm and sunny over here in Valchedram near Montana, 2 days of rain last week but all now cleared up and no need for any form of heating just yet, although I am ready for it, all the kamina needs is a match to it.

Oh well off to hammer more posts into the ground to get the rabbits outside run finished.

Lovely and bright here in Kotel today although it was a bit fresh first thing this morning (7 degrees). Not put any heating on yet but needed a pullover for the first hour or two of the day.

22 forecast for this afternoon which should be quite nice. A bit of a nip of Autumn in the air but still nowhere near winter yet!

I only had 2 winters in BG and for me it was't to good :x my house is in the open at the end of a vilage with the Sliven Mountains directly behind with nothing in-between so you can imagine what the cold wind was like, and then there was the thaw and water water everywhere, not in the house but there was easily 12 inches of water around the house, but I managed ok I am in the uk at the mo and I still have my house in BG and not to sure what to do yet? I have health problems that may make it difficult for me to stay there in the winter, but I will have to wait and see as time goes on and watch the weather round the world as the climate changes the balance of things.

I have noticed that when we say the winters are cold and snowy and the summers very hot, newcomers always reply 'oh we love the snow' or 'we don't mind the heat'. So often they have no idea how cold or how hot it can be in Bulgaria. The climate is extreme. You have to learn to live with it. You either get used to it or return to UK. This is especially important to bear in mind if you have health problems. Bulgarians have adapted to it and so must a Brit to enjoy life here. It is also very important when choosing exactly where to buy in Bulgaria. A wonderful isolated village in summer can throw up lots of problems in the winter which even a 4x4 cannot solve.

Hi all,
I have to agree with oldun, the winters are cold and harsh, the summers hot, like you would not believe, like 50+C, that is Sahara hot. The cold well, that is not so extreme, just a mere -25 or so in Feb. So all in all not so bad if you can adapt to it.
I love it and prefer the dry air.
